Second round of registered developers

Following the success of the first round of registered developers, we are pleased to confirm that the second band of developers were activated on the 2nd of November with the New Homes Quality Board (NHQB) and now fall under the jurisdiction of the New Homes Ombudsman Service

The full list of registered developers and their activation date can be found here.

We will continue to get in touch with developers as they go live, to introduce ourselves and to offer system training.

What does this mean?

Customers of developers who have activated their registration with NHQB can raise a new build complaint with NHOS and have their case examined.

We will not be able to accept property developer complaints prior to their activation date, and consumers must ensure that they have exhausted the developer’s complaints process before asking us to consider their complaint.

Next steps

Last month we identified ways to keep the process for onboarding new registered developers as flexible and transparent as possible for developers and their customers, and an update to allow the addition of multiple users will be released shortly.

We expect this will be completed by mid-December, but it will be in place before the date on which NHOS can start considering property developer complaints, so this should not cause you any problems.

We look forward to welcoming the next cohort of developers and their customers to our service and will be in touch with future developers as their accounts are activated.

If you have any questions about using the NHOS service or about how we can support your new build complaint, you can reach our team on 03308 084 286 or customer.services@nhos.org.uk
